Kurt Korte has been helping surfers find better wavesthrough Surfline forecasts since 2005 and now leads the company’s globalforecasting team. While his roots are in East Coast and Caribbean forecasting,his work has taken him across every major ocean basin, supporting surfexpeditions, international events, specialty projects, and some of the world’sbest surfers. With degrees in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology, Kurt isknown for digging into the details—analyzing model trends, observations, andsubtle forecast signals that can reveal opportunities others might miss.

Over the past two decades, Kurt has helped forecast many of the most significant swell events impacting the East Coast and contributed to Surfline’s support of the first two Olympic surfing competitions at Tsurigasaki Beach in Japan and Teahupo'o in Tahiti. One of his most memorable experiences was working alongside Surfline founder Sean Collins during the 2011 Quiksilver Pro New York, an experience that helped shape his approach to forecasting and surf travel.
